Thank you for your interest in Big Elk Creek Group Rentals! We know that you and your group will love our beautiful campgrounds. All groups are invited to use Big Elk Creek. Weddings, church groups, corporate retreats, Scouts, schools, and family reunions, all are welcome! Reservations by groups who use the camp each summer are taken during month of September each year. The balance of the reservations are open for booking beginning October 1st. Our team looks forward to serving and assisting you so that your group’s retreat at Big Elk Creek is a most fond, fun, and memorable experience! Your business goes towards serving the youth of our community at Big Elk Creek Residency Camp and Specialty Camps.

In operation since 1955, our mountain wilderness campground encompasses 8 acres of fields, streams, rivers, and woodlands within the Grand Targhee National Forest. Our Lodge and cabin facilities are nuzzled among wild rose, blossoming prairie flowers and herbs, towering Douglas fir, Aspen and Cottonwood trees, all combining to create a rustic atmosphere—ideal for any mountain getaway! Big Elk Creek Camp has the accommodations to suit the needs of groups up to 80 campers. Our cozy log-home style cabins sleep up to 12 persons. Each cabin is winterized and furnished with bunk beds. The Bathhouse utilizes mountain spring water, and provides heated showers, sinks, and toilet facilities. Selected cabins can provide semi-private sleeping quarters for guest speakers, chaperones, or group leaders. All participants must bring their own sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and towels. Our Lodge can seat over 120 people and features a large fireplace, spacious picture windows, and adjacent kitchen, bathrooms, and loft.(children under 8yrs not included for family reunions). There is a minimum two night stay when requesting use of the camp on Friday nights from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

•Garrett Lodge: Used for storage, sleeps 2-4.

•6 Sleep Cabins: sleeps 60-72 persons… five have propane heaters

•Bathhouse: Four showers & restrooms, propane water heaters, & lights

•Scenic woodland Chapel Area (seats 80)

•Baseball Field

•Volleyball Court

•Basketball Net

•Ropes course available (additional fee)

•Running water: May through October

•Propane water heaters in kitchen & bathhouse

•Generator in Lodge: fully insulated cabins

•Convection oven, propane gas stove, walk-in refrigerator, freezers & microwave in kitchen

Spring Water

Savor crisp, healthy, clear mountain-spring water! Big Elk Creek’s natural water supply comes from a freshwater mountain spring above the campground. Our facilities’ electricity is generated from our own hydroelectric generator powered by mountain streams uphill from the campgrounds.

Food Services

Free-up time for your group’s activities! Let our caring and accommodating Cooking Staff prepare three hot meals per day for your group

as you enjoy the view of the Big Elk Creek Canyon valley from the Main Lodge’s picture windows. Groups can enjoy hearty dining in a relaxed atmosphere. We plan and prepare a number of delicious meals. We have several tasty menu options available for you to choose from. Be aware there is an additional fee for ordering specialty meals not listed on the menu (based on type and amount of food you choose).

Choose from our delicious group menu selections. Vegetarian options and other special dietary needs are available upon request. The Camp Store is also open during meal times.

. . . Or fend for yourself! Our Kitchen Facility is included in the camp rental for the preparation of your meals. Our industrial equipped kitchen facility includes: Pots & Pans • Eating utensils for 80 persons • Walk-in refrigerator • Two freezers • Convection oven • Propane gas stove & oven • Industrial barbeque.
